I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I did! We did a lot of driving but got to see several family members. We also made a stop to do a little hike. The weather has been perfect for that. I'm staying busy in the garage studio. It's funny how over the last few years I've spent less and less time out there. I think I'm about ready to just focus on my paintings and let go of most of my garage stuff. The process to create is so different in the garage. I love all the stuff I've collected over the years, but i get so distracted when I'm out there trying to make things. My goal right now is to knock out several pieces from a piano, speaker boxes, and other items. If I hadn't already promised these things I'd be in the studio painting. I do have several commissions I need to catch up on, but once I get in the garage it's hard to go back and forth. So for now, I'll focus on the garage stuff and get back to painting as soon as possilble. I probably wont show any of the sculpture/furniture I create on my website, but I will share images on social media. Make sure we are connected so you can see how these things turn out. That's all for now. I'll let you know as soon as I get back to paintings new work. It's always fun to get back at it after taking a little break. I'm sure I'll have many new ideas on my "to do" list by the time I do get back in the studio:) Take Care! RLP
I'm back. I'm still as busy as can bee, but I'm starting to get things in order for a little down time. By down time I mean catching up on other projects. Before I get into all that I'd like to share with you on how well Artclectic went and about my bike rack being installed.
Artclectic: I spent a large portion of my summer preparing for Artclectic and it paid off. I had such a great experience. Sold lots of paintings, explained my process to all ages, and met some amazing artist. If you've never been to Artclectic, you should plan on going next year. One of the best Art events in Nashville! Bike Rack: Not too long ago a bike rack I designed for Metro Nashville was installed at Hadley Park. I'll post an image below. It turned out really cool. It was also a great experience. This is my first Public Art Piece, and I hope to add many more in the future.
So, for the next few weeks and maybe months, I plan to catch up on commissions, get out in the garage and build some things, and work through some new ideas for next years shows. As of now I have a show in the spring, and several in the woks for August through October. One of those is a solo show in another country. I'll share more about that later.
That's all I have time for today. Maybe while I'm taking a little break from things I'll get on here a little more often.
Thanks for reading. I'll be back! RLP
Here is where I share my thoughts about different things: my art, process, shows, inspirations, and whatever else I think is worth sharing. Please feel free to give feedback.
