I had the opportunity to drop in to the painting classes at MTSU, on Friday, last week and talk about my painting process and do a little demonstration. That was a great experience! After my demonstration the students tried their hand at doing a transfer on beeswax. I love how many of them loosely followed my instructions. That is how I came up with my process, just loosely following the steps to transfer ink onto beeswax. I eventually fine-tuned those differences into what I do today. I'm sure I will change my process a little more through the years. That's how I think I can make the most progress in my work, by trying new things and seeing where it goes:)
I've spent the last few days getting caught up on some projects around the house, so not studio time. I hope to get a little time own the studio tomorrow. That's the plan anyhow. I need to knock out a few commissions and then get back into trying some new things, or even getting in the garage and playing with some other media for a while. As usual, to many dead and not enough time.
I'm going to set a reminder on my phone, so I won't miss tomorrow's post. See you then! RLP
